This section provides validated results from transparent security deployments.
Rather than relying on assumptions or vendor claims, we document measurable behavior under real-world conditions.
What We Validate

Case Studies
- Allowing VRRP, HSRP, and STP Through Transparent-Mode FortiGate
Verifies control-plane behavior and BPDU forwarding limitations in transparent mode. - Measured Downtime During Inline Insertion of a Transparent Firewall
Demonstrates real-world downtime during inline insertion, including worst-case measurement methodology. - Application-Level Continuity Test (In Progress)
Verification of session persistence during upstream link interruption, including internal LAN communication and web conferencing behavior.
Design Intent
Transparent security should not disrupt existing network behavior.
This includes preserving Layer 2 control protocols such as BPDU, as well as maintaining stable control-plane communication between devices.
Reproducibility
All results presented here are based on reproducible configurations.
Each case documents not only the outcome, but also the conditions under which the behavior was observed.
